New pottery studio nearing completion!
Kate’s all-new pottery studio will soon be opening its doors, and it promises to be a truly inspiring space for creativity.
An exciting new workplace, it offers more space, more facilities, more light—in fact, it’s got more everything, including a bespoke area for wheelchair users.
Designed with both comfort and practicality in mind, the studio is having a brand-new kiln room built to fire all your projects (and try out new firing schedules!). Visitors will also appreciate the addition of modern toilet facilities and a dedicated parking area, making the studio more accessible than ever.
One of the most innovative features is the up-and-down work station, allowing potters to adjust their workspace to suit their needs, whether they prefer standing or sitting while shaping clay.
Classes are proving to be as popular as ever, and with the new studio comes new 8-week courses, offering even more scope for your amazing ceramic creations. More details on the new class structures here.
With its grand opening ceremony just around the corner, Kate’s studio is set to become a hub of artistry, community and inspiration for pottery enthusiasts of all levels, and Kate looks forward to welcoming regulars and newcomers alike!
Keep an eye on this page for details of the grand opening – we'd love to see you there!
Classes soon back up & running following pottery fire

A devastating blow struck Kate's pottery when, early on the morning of May 16th, flames engulfed the old 18th century building, reducing it to ashes within hours and destroying everything inside. Cherished throwing wheels, tools, and many pieces of art were lost in the inferno. Kate was left stunned and heartbroken along with her pottery regulars, who had spent years honing their craft and building friendships at what had become a weekly community hub for many.
Heroic support from Kate's army of potters
But in the face of this tragedy, the potters rallied together – news of the fire spread quickly, and within hours, offers of help began pouring in. Indeed, Kate's pottery heroes donated throwing wheels, tools, supplies and much more. The outpouring of support was, to say the least, overwhelming.

The most remarkable aspect of this recovery effort was the people who volunteered their time. Dozens of individuals, from seasoned potters to family friends, came together to help set up a new summer pottery studio in the Old Barn. Everyone worked tirelessly, cleaning, organising and preparing this amazing old space for it's transformation into a superb creative workspace.
And now, after all that – hello!
